We first tried these while in the shop on a vacation. Bought a couple of boxes as gifts for friends at home - they didn't last long enough. We kept sampling them on the way home. Now I order them as a Mothers Day gift for my mom. She is wonderfully kind and shares them with me!

A classmate in our dojo brought a box in for our weekly Thursday night beer after workout, here in New Jersey. She has a daughter in Kentucky and says they always make it a point to stop in at "Ruth Hunt's" to pick up their allotment of candy. She brought in a box of the Bourbon Balls. I'm sixty years old, and well-traveled. These things were - to use Don B's word - AMAZING. The chocolate was fantastic, the pecan on top perfect.... but the balance of bourbon inside in the creamy / paste filling was truly outstanding! If you love bourbon and you love chocolate and you love pecans... this is crazy good. And I only had one. Could have eaten the entire box. Kudos, Ruth Hunt & Company!

I discovered the Ruth Hunt Candy shop/factory thru a Woodford Reserve Distillery tour (go see it). I drove over to Mt Sterling, toured the candy factory, and tasted the Bourbon Balls. WOW!!! I bought several on the spot and have bought others on later trips or by mail. Ruth Hunt's are by far the best I have ever tasted. Others may claim to be the originator (Ive tasted several brands), but Ruth Hunt makes theirs the best. Check out some history about her - https://www.irontontribune.com/2011/07/24/kentucky-candy-maker-ruth-hunt-continues-sweet-legacy/
